![]() The vocals are fucking amazing, and Joyce Wrice is someone i’m going to be watching from now on because she can sing amazingly. It’s just not my cup of tea musically as I don’t really like the backing track. Not in a fanboysish sense of nostalgia: while the original slapped it’s perfectly resonable to make a new version of it especially when the original singers have long since broken up. I’ll be honest i’m not crazy about the theme song remix. I dunno, point is Penny checks herself out in the mirorr and we’re onto the credits. or the cast of the proud family has been biologically witches this whole time and we finally found out how witch puberty works. or rather the shine as a small twinkling bit of light twirls through the neighborhood and shoots off to visit the teens of the town, serving as a metaphor for a growth spurt. and 2 years at once as one of animations faviorite families gets louder, prouder and more 2020′s than mankind thought possible. For now though let’s look at our heroes as they jump ahead 20 years. That said if this review does well like wise i’m not opposed to returning to this show or doing some looks at the original down the road. not out of disrespect but because my schedule is really fucking packed for the next few months. I will say I won’t be covering the show week to week. Plus the show has Bobby showing up more often as he now lives with the the rest of the family so I was always going to be excited. The show is getting toys, plushes and has already gotten a storybook, soundtrack and clothing line. I’m also hoping the shows big merchandise blitz leads to disney pulling their own heads out of their white asses and doing this more often. I’m also hopeing this revivial opens the door not just for revivials of other shows of the era that I was raised on like Kim Possible or Jake Long, but for revivials and spinoffs of more recent disney shows. ![]() It’s thanks to this show opening the door that so much representation has come crawling in so I was happy to welcome it back, hoping it’d work out some of the kinks. And as an adult whose pulled my head out of my white ass, I can see just how important the show is in hindsight: it was one of the first animated shows to have a predmoinatly black cast, with other POC sprinkled in for flavor, and without Proud Family i’m not sure we would have Jake, Luz, Anne, Molly or Luna among many, many others. While some parts of the Proud Family didn’t do it for me I still cherish the show having watched every episode as a kid (Literally), and enjoyed the hell out of it. Out of Disney+’s projects this has been one of my most anticipated. Well we’re finally here and rather than do the pilot as planned for Black History Month i’m doing you one better: i’m taking a look at the first episode of the new revivial that just dropped Wedsday, Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. That ended up being the Proud Family and like many of my projects I kept having to put it off for paid or time sensitive stuff. Last Year I reviewed the Lilo and Stitch Crossover episodes, and as a fun game for it said i’d review an episode of whichever one got the most likes. Hello all you happy people! And for Black History month I have a special treat that’s been long overdue.
